Imagine Team Game

WHO are you designing your game for? (Include the player's age, abilities, and prior knowledge of your topic.) How will you make sure your game is not hurtful to any group of people?  We are making this game for all ages. Everyone can play our game. We will make sure this game doesn't hurt anyone by ask all kinds of people if they find our game offensive.

WHAT will your game teach the player about your topic? (Be specific!)If you are making a social issue game, how will you show multiple perspectives?

Our game will teach people to tell the homeless to keep running. To reach their goal or to fell confident about themselves.

WHERE does your game happen?
Describe the world you will design for your game.
How will this setting add to the learning experience?

Our game is going to be in Austin. There's gonna be homeless people running around the Capital and other people are cheering for or helping them get to the finish line or something. The setting will help people understand why homeless people run around the Capital or something like that.

HOW does your game world teach the player about your topic?
What happens in the world that helps the player learn?
How does the player use what they learned to make something happen in the game?
It will teach them that there many homeless people all around the world. It helps the player learn that many homeless people run because they want to feel confident about themselves. If they play the game they will spread the word and that could benefit the homeless by helping them.

WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz?
A game is way better than a quiz because it shows and teaches the learner more. In a quiz it doesn't really teach you about anything. You just have to circle answers and solve some questions. Also, when you do a quiz you get really bored and you can't concentrate no more. In a game you can remember things so easily. You either play the game or read the facts about the game to remember everything.

      First Game Idea

MANOS DE CRISTO is the one that seems interesting. I want to work with this one the most because a lot of people from latin countries are people who come to this country to do something really good with their lifes. They leave their home to go to the u.s. and have a better home and life. I want to learn more about these people. I want to help them. It's good to help other people who need help. You might have relatives that have the same issue or it might be you. I can make a game that helps people learn why it's important to help people who need help.

      Organization

      MANOS DE Cristo

With the Hispanic population booming in Austin and a continued expectation of growth, we need to put the focus on how to assist those coming from Latin countries that need a helping hand. While Manos serves people of all cultural and racial background, there is no denying that Latinos are moving further away from being the minority in Austin and could utilize services offered by places like Manos. With more exposure, Manos can continue to help those in need with ESL classes, a food pantry, clothes closet and a dental clinic. These services help people gain the confidence and skills they need to contribute fully to society.
