Playing to Learn, Genre: Action

  •  Game that taught me a new educational skill or gave information on a subject:
Tempest in Crescent City doesn't work.
 Sigma Prime doesn't work.
 Zeitgeist doesn't work.
Survivor taught me the most but it was kinda of boring.
  • Game that taught me about a new or existing social issue:

Most of them didn't work but Survivor did work but it didn't taught me anything.
Mighty Guy 2 taught me how to survive in this game.
  • Game I liked best:

Well most of them didn't work so I have to say that none of them.
In Fun Brain I like the game Migthy Guy 2 because it's a pretty cool game to play.
  • What happens in the game:
In Survivor you just gotta save the person from being killed by the officers.
In Mighty Guy you have to get on the other side in order to win.
  • How do you play it:

You use the left and right arrows to move. And you use the spacebar in order to jump in the game Survivor
You use the left,up,right, and the down key in order to move, jump, or duck in the game Mighty Guy 2

Mini Game

I like doing the Mini Game because it's like practice to me. It makes Flash easy for me. When I started to make my Mini Game I started to learn who to use the codes.
I finished all my mini game steps from 1-8.
It was hard at fisrt but I got the hang of it.
I love doing the mini game steps because it helps me to practices the codes.
I helped like 2 or 3 students to finish at least the step.I'm gonna be practicing so I can be better at it.

9/11

1. How old were you on September 11,2011?
I was 2 years old when 9/11 happened.

2. When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the events to you? I learned about this because my dad talked me about 9/11.

3. What kind of impact did these attacks have on your life or your parents lives? My dad and my mom were shoked but it didn't affect their lifes.

1. What was the issue with this game? People started complaining about the game.

2. How do you feel about it? I feel bad because the person that made that video game is probably making fun of the people that had reletives in 9/11 who died.

3. What is the problem with portraying on such an awful violent event through a video game? It's bad because maybe people that were in 9/11 or had reletives there that died might think that it's just making fun of people and just making them feel sad.

4. How can you make sure that your web games tell the whole story or teach a lesson in an honorable way? We could make games that teach other young kids about 9/11 and show them how people were sad and felt bad.

2 Single Story 2011

"Danger of a Single Story"

  • What does it mean to have a "single story" about a place or community? To have a a story a place or community. Or it could be a strong opinion about a place or community.
  • Describe a single story you have heard told about your community. What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community? People from my community are really nice. What's missing from the story was maybe add some pictures or videos so people could see what kind of people live in your community so that people could have more information. People could see how people from that community do in there.
  • Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community? Another community I heard of was about the Holocoust. I learned about this story in 6th grade. I could find out more by looking it up online.
  • How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community? It teaches a player about different kinds of stuff they go trough and what kind of problems people have in a place or a community.
