First Game Idea

MANOS DE CRISTO is the one that seems interesting. I want to work with this one the most because a lot of people from latin countries are people who come to this country to do something really good with their lifes. They leave their home to go to the u.s. and have a better home and life. I want to learn more about these people. I want to help them. It's good to help other people who need help. You might have relatives that have the same issue or it might be you. I can make a game that helps people learn why it's important to help people who need help.

Organization

MANOS DE Cristo

With the Hispanic population booming in Austin and a continued expectation of growth, we need to put the focus on how to assist those coming from Latin countries that need a helping hand. While Manos serves people of all cultural and racial background, there is no denying that Latinos are moving further away from being the minority in Austin and could utilize services offered by places like Manos. With more exposure, Manos can continue to help those in need with ESL classes, a food pantry, clothes closet and a dental clinic. These services help people gain the confidence and skills they need to contribute fully to society.

Build Interactive Mini Game

I learned that I can do an awesome game and I can be proud of myself.  I know that the people who create games put a lot of effort into them and  they're very proud of themselves. I thank the people who create the games I like because they take a lot of time and have a lot of experience making these games.

Play to Learn Part 2

Actually, we didn't have a choice of choosing a genre. All of the class had to do a hidden object game.  I learned that I can do a better hidden object game because other students did a better job than me. Puebloan City is one of the game that really stood out for me. Can we change our game genre later on? Are we going to have more codes for our game?

Present Your Hidden Object Game

The Big Idea: Describe your learning topic for the game. What is the most important thing you want your players to learn? I want to teach them all about protons, neutrons, electrons, and other things I've learned so far about science.

Research: What kind of research did you do? What did you learn about your topic?
I didn't do any research. What I learned from science is the research I did. I learned several things from my topic. I learned about the protons, neutrons, electron, electron cloud, and other things.

Making Decisions: How did your ideas change as you worked on your game?
When I was working on my game, I needed to change my ideas because I didn't have enough time or I didn't understand some things.

Mastering Programming: What Game Ingredients and Help Center resources have been most useful to you so far, and why?  Animate Found Object was on of the most useful for me. It was one of the coolest codes and it was one of the easiest codes to do for me.

Overcoming Challenges: Which part of making the game was most difficult for you? How did you overcome this difficulty? What features are you most proud of in your game? For me the most difficult thing to do is getting the codes right and drawing my background because I had so many details in my background. I'm proud of putting in the codes right.

Add Game Ingredients

I was doing three codes for my game and I didn't knew how to do one code. I struggled. It took me two days to finish the code. I also did one of the hard codes and I really struggled on that one. I couldn't figure it out. It was like one of the hardest code I've ever done. But, it was fun to do because you can learn new codes and you can help other people. I wish there could be other new codes that I can do.
